Noah player Helder, in an interview with Portuguese outlet A Bola, spoke about how the opportunity to move to Armenia came about.
"I left Cypriot club Anorthosis because of financial problems. I was on vacation when my former coach contacted me. He said that Noah was interested in me. At first, the offer didn’t really attract me, but then my agent got in touch with Noah. The club presented its project and the conditions they could offer me and my family. We had a few conversations and reached an agreement.
At the beginning, my wish was to stay in Cyprus. I really loved that country. The league was very competitive and entertaining. When the opportunity came to join Noah, it was not my first option. I spoke with people who knew Armenia and the league. In my mind, I wanted to move somewhere closer to Portugal, but when I saw Noah’s project, I liked it and accepted it."
Speaking about the Armenia–Portugal match, Helder noted:
"It is very good that my country’s national team is playing here. It is also good for Armenia’s national team, because the players will compete against footballers of a very high level. At the moment, Portugal is one of the best in the world, and playing against them will be very valuable."
