Noah defender Gonçalo Silva spoke about various topics in an interview with Portuguese outlet Craques.
Adapting to Armenia
Gonçalo described his move to Armenia as follows:
"Everything was very good and even surprising. It also helped me a lot that there were other Portuguese players in the team. The opportunity to move to Noah came after my contract with Farense expired. The main reason for moving to Armenia was Noah’s strong desire for me to join the club."
About Armenian football
"Honestly, I don’t want to make comparisons between Armenian and Portuguese football. I want to note that we are the first Armenian club to qualify for the group stage of a European competition for the second year in a row. There are 3–4 teams in Armenia that can compete at the level of Portugal. Many Armenian teams make bigger investments than some Portuguese clubs. Noah’s success also lies in the fact that the club forces other Armenian teams to invest as well in order to compete."
Armenia – Portugal
Commenting on the Armenia–Portugal match, Gonçalo Silva said:
"Portugal must be careful. The Armenian national team will wait for Portugal to make a mistake. I don’t think the hosts will attack from high positions. Portugal must be ready for Armenia’s fast counterattacks and pay attention to the individual qualities of the players who will be waiting for mistakes from the Portuguese players."
